Trump cancels meeting with Putin at G20 summit in Argentina

Shortly after he reacted to the news about Michael Cohen, Donald Trump abruptly cancelled a meeting with Russia’s Vladimir Putin, which was to happen during the G20 summit in Argentina. Formally, he cancelled the meeting over concerns about the recent Russia-Ukraine flare-up in Crimea.


Trump also ruled out meeting Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman, saying, “There’s not enough time.”


But the US president does plan to meet with Chinese President Xi Jinping in an effort to calm trade tensions between the two economic powers, after the Trump administration slapped tariffs on a variety of Chinese goods earlier this year.
