Four years ago, ISIL (also known as ISIS) controlled the Iraqi city of Mosul.


The battle to recapture it cost thousands of lives and the city was left in ruins.


For former residents lucky enough to escape ISIL’s web of violence and inhumanity, things remain difficult.
