During Italy’s failed bid to form a government last week, the country’s economy minister was vetoed by the president because he had previously discussed leaving the euro.


But it is not hard to find Italians who believe adopting the currency has been a mistake.


So, why is the currency such a sensitive topic in Italy?

With Trump's deadline looming, Canada waits for news on steel tariffs

READ MORE The countdown is on as Canada waits to learn whether it will face steep U.S. tariffs on steel and aluminum. U.S. President Donald Trump imposed sweeping tariffs in March of 25 per cent on steel imports and 10 per cent on aluminum, but granted temporary exemptions to certain countries. In the case of Canada and Mexico, Trump’s administration tied both countries’ tariff exemptions to the successful renegotiation of the North American Free Trade Agreement.
