Venezuela crisis fuels crime wave in Colombia

Venezuela‘s economic and social crisis is fuelling a major increase in crime, not just at home, but also in neighbouring Colombia. The collapse in Venezuela’s currency has made cross-border smuggling a lucrative business for criminal gangs.


Al Jazeera’s Alessandro Rampietti, reporting from Villa del Rosario, went on night patrol with Colombian special forces on the hunt for smugglers.
