Brexit: May rebuffed by EU leaders in Brussels

British Prime Minister Theresa May is insisting she can get the extra assurances she needs from the European Union on her Brexit deal – to ensure it is passed by her own parliament.


It comes after heated discussions in Brussels, but the EU is showing no sign of moving from its current position.


Prime Minister May remains hopeful that some sort of legal legerdemain can persuade doubting MPs to support the Brexit deal, but in Brussels, many EU leaders were reportedly sceptical that she could pass the deal through the UK’s Parliament.
